Did you know that there are still skin misconceptions that are commonly believed by many when it comes to skin care management?
According to a book by Dr. Ellen Marmur, there are more surprising skin myths she revealed:
Myth: Washing face too often can make it oily.
Fact: If your skin is squeaky-clean, new oil may be more noticeable, but washing face doesn't start oil-production.
Myth: Washcloths are breeding grounds for bacteria.
Fact: If they're left wet, they can harbor bacteria, but rinse it with soap, wring it out well, hang dry after every use and you'll be fine.
Myth: Washing or misting your face with mineral water while on the plane keeps skin from being dehydrated.
Fact: Use moisturizer instead if you want extra hydration. Water may only evaporate and causes it to dry out more.
Myth: Serum penetrate better than creams.
Fact: No scientific proof yet. A serum may feel better on oily skin, and dry skin can be good with thick cream.
